The Liberi school in Zambia was officially opened last wednesday by Hrh chief Simamba. The liberi school is located beside Aller aqua Zambia and is a partnership between the liberi foundation Netherlands, Aller aqua Zambia and Yalelo. Aller aqua Zambia and Yalelo provide operational support, alongside liberi foundation Netherlands which also provides most of the financial support.
The school has four classes ranging from “Baby” to Grade 1, with 144 students in total. In addition to the four fully furnished classrooms, also toilet blocks, administration offices, a canteen and houses for the teachers have been built. This year three additional classrooms will be built to accommodate Grade 2, a library and computer room and a classroom for children that require additional learning support.
The Liberi Foundation wishes to contribute in the field of underprivileged children in Zambia and has therefore initiated this project.
For Aller Aqua Zambia it has been important to support a local initiative. The school will benefit the community in many ways, and the project supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education.
