WSCS Sturgeon Session featuring Dr. Robert Tillner at AQUA2018

Product Manager, Dr Robert Tillner, presented ”Growth and health promoting feeds for Sturgeon” at the WSCS (World Sturgeon Conservation Society) Sturgeon Session. Participants included sturgeon farmers, caviar producers and other stakeholders within sturgeon aquaculture, who came from many different nationalities.

Dr Tillner walked the participants through a sturgeon lifecycle and explained the importance of both feed and environment to sturgeon production. He included factors affecting growth negatively and discussed what the aquafeed industry is doing to prevent this through functional feeds. Dr Tillner further addressed caviar production, as well as additives and vitamins in sturgeon feeds.

Dr Tillner’s presentation leads up to Aller Aqua’s collaboration with WSCS and IRS for the 9th International Sturgeon Conference, which takes place in Warsaw, Poland on the 21st November 2018. Dr Tillner will also be present in Warsaw during the conference where he will present further information about sturgeon feeding and functional feeds.
