Project: Medusa

Development of technological methods for the commercial exploitation of jellyfish as a fish feed ingredient.

About the project

MEDUSA aims to develop methods for commercializing marine nutrients from jellyfish as feed for farmed fish.

1. To develop methods for the initial concentration/dewatering of nutrients from jellyfish, which could result in a secondary product containing approximately 20% dry matter in protein, fat, and other nutrients.

2. Additionally, to develop methods for further fractionation, refinement, and concentration of nutrients.

Aller Aqua is dedicated to developing aquafeeds using alternative raw materials. As a result, the company is exploring alternative raw materials sourced from lower trophic levels in the food chain. In the MEDUSA project, Aller Aqua will assist in formulating and testing fish feed made with jellyfish ingredients.
